It is with great regret and after a lot of discussion and advice it has been decided to cancel the March 2020 NCCQ examinations. This decision has not been taken lightly but IHRIM is mindful of the important role that all NHS staff will play in the coming weeks and we have made the decision in the interests of supporting the wider NHS as well as to protect our students, members and employees.
We recognise that many of you will have caring responsibilities and may be concerned about your own health and that of your family and understand that any travel can expose people to greater risk. We have made the decision now rather than leave it until closer to the date and risk not being able to get enough invigilators or that the venues have closed.
However we understand that this decision may be inconvenient to many of you and we will automatically transfer your registration to the September examination unless you request otherwise. You could have a full refund if you desire or alternatively under exceptional circumstances you might be able to postpone until March 2021.
It will not be possible to schedule another examination before September due to administration difficulties and also the lack of clarity on what the situation will be in the next few months. From September 2020 onwards the examination will be based on OPCS 4.9. For candidates that are close to having to re-take the whole examination the March exam is null and void so will not count towards your timeframe.
The IHRIM Board is grateful for your understanding in these difficult times.
