Career Choices and examinations at IHRIM
Studying for any examination is hard work. Not only do you have to continue to do your day job, and keep house and home going, but you also have to take yourself away and study. Focus and study like there is no tomorrow.
But there is a tomorrow and it is exam day! Eeek. And you go in and do it. And wait. And wait. And then your results. You pass or you fail. Fail and you feel there really is no tomorrow – but there is. There always is.
And if you pass, your tomorrow will be very different. For a start there will be no more studying. At least for a while.
So what now? What will you do? Can we help you think it through? Why not start a conversation off with us at IHRIM and see if we can help you work out what your next steps are. If you’ve just passed your coding exam, then you may want to consider another role in coding: Coding audit or coding trainer.
On the other hand you may want to broaden your options and future-proof yourself by looking to a new career in health informatics. The world really is your oyster in that space: lots of different jobs and different opportunities. And IHRIM can help: we have a number of Health Informatics exams that would help you in this area of the NHS an area which is rapidly emerging – the electronic patient record space and all that it entails.
And if you’ve just passed your Foundation Informatics exam, what next? The Certificate? And then the Diploma? Why not. Why not give yourself as much chance of getting that job in Informatics that you’ve always wanted. The interview will go a lot better if they know you’ve got these certificates under your belt.
So if you are a coder or working in any other records or Informatics field and you’ve just passed your exam, congratulations. Why not contact us now and let us talk you through the options available and how we at IHRIM can help you.
